Friends,
This was a tough call that we have been personally agonizing over for the past several weeks, but Korey & I have reached the unfortunate decision to cancel the world premiere of “The Dysfunctional 757” at Club Relevant on January 16th. Furthermore, post-production for the documentary has moved into hiatus and there is currently no timeline for the documentary’s eventual release. One of the main reasons behind this decision was because of a hard drive failure that resulted in losing access to 75% of our documentary footage. Already pressed for time, we felt that even if we were able to get our hard drive fixed & recover what we could, that we would not have the appropriate amount of time to finish the documentary by January 16th. Despite falling victim to Murphy’s Law at almost every turn, we realize the importance of this project both historically & culturally, along with what this project means to many people across the music scene on a personal level. We can assure you that no matter how many setbacks we face, that this project will never die, and it is because of our shared love for this music scene that we are determined to make sure that no matter what, whether our documentary is released next year or in 20 years, that the music scene as we know it will never be forgotten.
